The Dark and Damaged Hearts Series, Book 8
Hard, Fast and Madly: Part 2
What’s life without a little chaos?
Who would’ve thought a chance meeting on an airplane could’ve turned into a whirlwind romance like none other? Certainly not Freya Lapierre, who’d thought she’d never experience love again, not after the secrets and devastation her late husband left her with. She figured she was destined for a life of heartache and loneliness. But Jake changed all that. He showed Freya a new way to live with passion, self-love and honesty. He brought her into his family fold and introduced her to people who will always have her back. Only, Freya’s fears, insecurities and the enemies her ex-husband left behind threaten this new family and force Freya to a take a risk, endangering those she loves most in the process.
Jake Leeman’s been knocked off his feet by the stunning Freya. She intrigues him, challenges him, and most of all loves him implicitly. He’s finally earned her trust, and he’s determined to keep it. But life has other plans for Jake, and that trust is tested. When Jake’s world is turned upside down and his entire identity is put into question, he begins to re-evaluate everything he’s ever known. Can Freya help Jake navigate the turmoil and his new life? Can she help him find himself again? Or will the drama and danger that surrounds them both be too much for their relationship to handle … and survive?
“Come whenever you need to,” he said, the vibration of his voice making me tremble and causing my hips to leap off the bed.
With the twist of his finger, I detonated.
My mouth opened up, ready to cry out, when I remembered the house full of people. Mid-ecstasy, I grabbed the pillow beside me, bit down on it and shoved my pelvis against his face as bright lights flashed behind my eyelids.
Slowly but surely, I found my way back down to earth. I had to tap Jake on the head, because even after my orgasm, his diligence never ceased.
“I’ll be right back,” he said with a triumphant grin before ducking out of the bedroom, leaving me naked, satiated and boneless on the bed. Seconds later he returned, a glass of water in his hand. “Here, I thought you might be thirsty.”
How did he know?
I accepted the cup and chugged it.
“So.” He crawled back up the bed and sat next to me, reaching over and rolling a nipple between his thumb and forefinger. “How was that?”
I melted into his touch and closed my eyes. “That was … incredible.”
“Look at me.”
I opened my eyes and was struck dumb with what I saw. There was complete and utter enchantment in his eyes, deep aquamarine swimming with curiosity and intrigue. “You’re perfection,” he breathed. “Thank you so much for being here. It means everything to me.”
